To the Saybrook Community:

Voting for the proposed amendment to Paragraph 18 of the Saybrook Restrictive Covenants closed on January 31, 2021.  The proposed amendment did not pass.

Pursuant to applicable Pennsylvania statutes and regulations, as well as the Saybrook Covenants and Bylaws, two-thirds of the homeowners are needed to approve any amendment to the Restrictive Covenants.  In light of the fact that Saybrook has approximately 180 homeowners, 120 are needed to approve such an amendment.  Only 54 votes were received in support, falling far short of approval.  Six votes were cast against the proposed amendment.

Therefore, paragraph 18 of the Restrictive Covenants remains “as is” – that is, “[n]o sign of any kind shall be displayed to the public view on any lot except when the house or lot is for sale; in which case, one sign having an area of not more than five (5) square feet advertising the property for sale may be displayed.”
